Carers Wakefield & District Men’s Group aims to bring men together to talk about the things that are important to them. The idea is that men can talk to other men about anything they like, whilst providing an opportunity for conversations around their caring role. Talking about their caring role with other men, can help normalise things and highlight that they are not on their own. We also understand that at times people do not always want to share their feelings, but prefer the comradery and chance to meet other men in similar situations to them.
The group currently meets on the last Friday of every month, 12.00 noon to 1.30pm, at Carers Wakefield & District, 25 King Street, Wakefield, WF1 2SR. Refreshments are provided.
We would like to hear your views about the group, please take a look at the following questions and email richardn@carerswakefield.org.uk with any comments:
- If you were looking to attend the group, what might prevent you from doing so, distance/travel, time away from your caring role, confidence, any other reason?
- Previously, the group have done things like bus trips out, pub lunches, leisure activities such as pitch & putt, walking, visiting places of interest. Can you think of any other activities that you would like to join in with?
- Do you have a preferred day or meeting time and where would you like to meet, for example, central Wakefield, in a cafe, a private function room or any other venue?
