Are you caring for a child or young person who has a disability or a learning difficulty?
Our organisation is keen to work with both statutory and voluntary organisations to raise the awareness of the needs of Parent Carers. We are interested in learning about your experiences to enable us to inform and influence proposed future service provision in the Wakefield Metropolitan District.
Our staff are here to:
- Listen - offering you, in confidence, an understanding and listening ear
- Meet your needs - to discuss your situation and focus on your concerns
- Give independent information and advice - on a wide range of services
- Advocacy - support you in meetings that you may need to attend in your role as a 'carer'
- Inform you of Support Groups - introduce you to and give you the opportunity to meet with other parents to share the 'highs' and 'lows' that challenge you each day
- Offer useful contacts - organisations that can provide specific information about a wide range of topics
- Organise outings and activities - add your name to our mailing list and receive regular notification about future events
