Carers Groups we have on offer…
We provide the opportunity for carers to meet together in a relaxed, informal atmosphere over a cup of tea or coffee. Many people gain help and support from meeting together with others who have similar experiences or problems and from being able to ‘let off steam’ with people who understand.
All groups are different, some purely social and some also offering the chance to hear talks on caring issues or topics of general interest. Most groups organise activities, social events and outings throughout the year for carers
Here are the groups we have on offer in and around the Wakefield District:

Mental Health Carers Group
The group was set up to offer support to carers who are caring for someone with a mental health condition. Carers are able to get together with other carers in a similar situation, to give support to one another, and share information and ideas about what has been helpful/unhelpful for themselves and those they care for. This can help to make carers feel less isolated and alone in their caring role.
We have regular speakers come to the group in order to give information and support to carers. Some speakers are providing information about mental health services/conditions etc and some give guidance about how carers can look after themselves within their caring role.
